Spiritualisms Message to the Bereaved

There is no death …

This is the fundamental message that Spiritualism proclaims. This truth has, for over a century been proved by millions all over the world. Survival after death is not a hope, a belief or a speculation. It is a fact, capable of demonstration. The evidence is beyond reasonable doubt. It is recorded in thousands of books, written in practically every language in the civilised world. Is it possible to dismiss these accumulated proofs? Survival is the law of nature that operates in the case of every person who dies. It is a biological fact, just as natural as birth, and is unaffected by religious doctrines.

Communication with the dead is due to nature’s law. Humankind is Spirit expressing itself though a physical body. We live because we are a Spirit, we survive death because we are Spirit and we return from beyond the grave or incinerator because we are Spirit. These are the great central truths of Spiritualism. We proclaim them with an unfaltering confidence founded on years of experience.

The dead come back, whether killed on the field of battle thousands of miles from home, perish in the sea, or pass away in hospital, wherever it may be they come back, in times of peace or trouble, dieing by accident, because of illness or old age or even by their own or another’s hand.

Space is no limitation, nor is reason. Distance is no barrier, nor where they lay nor where their ashes are scattered. Be they in an ordinary grave, a mausoleum, deep within the oceans depths, cremated and their ashes kept in a vessel or scattered to the winds, none of these spell an end, an eternal silence, a finality.

Why do they come back?

An easy question to answer, they come back because they Love us. We do not and we cannot disturb them, we have no power to compel them to return, more often than not we are the stumbling blocks, our prejudice, superstition and ignorance stand in the way of their communications with us. Life and Love are imperishable because the ties of Love, affection and friendship cannot be severed by death.

They come back to help and guide us, to cheer and inspire and sustain us by letting us know that there is another life where justice is redressed, where rank and station no longer hold sway, where each and every one of us is given another chance.

And so they come back, not just the privileged, faithful few of the “orthodox” churches and faiths, not the hallowed saints, not just the humble and lowly, but all men, women and children of whatever colour, class, race or creed and those of no creed. Even our beloved animals can return to let us know that they are well and happy.

They can return to us, the sage or the fool, the scholar and the dunce, the rich and the poor, the saint and the sinner, the king and the commoner, each one bearing the same message, “there is no death and Love and the Spirit are eternal”.

They come back to us though Mediumship, using their gift of sensitiveness, which we all have, if only we develop them. We can all have the ability to see, hear or feel the presence of those who have gone before us.

It is as foolish to say that the dead cannot be seen or heard because you lack experience as it would for a blind person to say there is no sun because they have not seen it, or for a deaf person to say the birds do not sing because they have not heard them.

You do not need to accept Spiritualism without evidence, but it would be illogical to say the case has not been proven, if you have failed to enquire. Investigate for yourself. Do not take anything that is said on trust. If you are given a message then “check it out” don’t say it is wrong because YOU do not know about it.

Ask and find out – your proof will be strong
