What Is Reiki Healing?
Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life (Rei) Energy (Ki).
It is a healing discipline and has its roots in ancient Buddhist teachings.

The founder of Reiki, Dr Mikao Usui, spent many years seeking the knowledge of healing and found information on Reiki in Sanskrit texts. He received information on Reiki through a vidion when meditatiion on a Japanese Mountain.
Reiki is the vital life energy which flows through all living things and which can be activated for the purpose of healing. Reiki practitioners believe that everyone has the ability to connect to their own healing energy and use it for the purposes of strengthening the Ki (or life energy) of others.
The Reiki therapist channels the Ki through his or her hands to the recipient, activating the body's natural ability to heal itself. When a person's Ki is strong and flowing freely, the body and mind are in a positive state of health. However, the vital energy may become weak or blocked, and this may lead to symptoms on a physical or emotional level.
A Reiki practitioner will have received 'attunements' to open their healing channels. The guidelines for the practise of Reiki are concerned with ethics and behaviour and include living in harmony with others, taking responsibility for one's own health and happiness, helping others, and being positive about all things.
Are Reiki Healers properly trained? Reiki Healers who belong to The IPSC have completed a programme of training with a recognised Reiki Master, who alone can approve them as practitioners. They must provide evidence (an original signed certificate) of this, and be approved by the Churches own Reiki Masters.
How are they regulated? The IPSC Healers and Trainee Healers are all members of the Church and are bound by a Code of Conduct which sets standards for practising Spiritual or Reiki Healing which acts as a reference on those standards for the public. They are subject to a disciplinary process in the event of any misconduct and can be banned from healing. They also abide by the Healers Oath, much like a doctors Hippocratic Oath. All Healers are CRB checked and insured for the protection of the public before they can practice.
How many Healers do you have? Currently the IPSC have two Reiki Masters, three Level 2 Reiki Healers and three who are at Level 1, we also have has five fully qualified and experienced Spiritual Healers and three who have reached their Probationary Period (Second Year).
How is Reiki Healing given? It can be administered sitting on a chair or lying down on one of our Healing Beds in the healing room, whichever you feel most comfortable with. The Healers will only touch specific points of the body. It is painless; however some people feel warmth, coolness or tingling, depending on the energies required by the client. Most just feel relaxed and peaceful.
